&Beyond Klein's Camp

Enjoy endless views over the iconic Serengeti plains in complete luxury. Perched on top of a hill in a private concession boasting magnificent views of the Serengeti ánd Masai Mara. &Beyond Klein’s Camp offers an unlimited safari experience: top-notch staff, luxurious cottages, thrilling night drives, bush walks and off-road game drives go hand in hand.

Unlimited safari experience with a view

Towering up above the plains, the gorgeous &Beyond Klein’s Camp sits on the edge of the Kuka Hills offering panoramic views of rolling grasslands, forested river banks and wooded hillsides. The camp is set in an exclusive private concession deep in the heart of Maasai land, in the north-eastern Serengeti. &Beyond Klein’s Camp overlooks a popular route used by the herds of the Great Migration when moving between north and south so that, twice a year, the valley below is filled with a jostling throng of zebra and wildebeest. The rest of the year this game-rich sanctuary is still teeming with wildlife and is famous for its enormous prides of lion, and some of the best leopard viewing in Tanzania.

Penny and the rest of the staff make you feel like family the minute you arrive to the minute you leave. From a relaxing massage to preparing an exquisite meal for you to one of the Maasai warrior guiding you to your room at night. You are truly set in the middle of nature with no fences, and you will probably see elephants and elands roaming the hills right from your own private deck.

There is a swimming pool overlooking the smoky views of distant hills. The camp also features a beautifully furnished bar and sitting area and a safari shop that features locally made Maasai crafts. Fresh vegetables picked from the camp’s shamba (organic African garden) are used to create wholesome dishes. They serve dinners in the main dining area, which is graced by a large open fireplace.

&Beyond Klein’s Camp comprises just ten intimate cottages made of whitewashed local stone and makuti thatch, with rich wooden floors and classic interiors. Each cottage has an en-suite bathroom and private veranda with breathtaking views over the surrounding hills and the valley below. You are set in the middle of nature with no fences and you will probably see elephants and elands roaming the hills right from your own private deck. &Beyond Klein’s Camp is also ideal for family safaris, where guests can take advantage of the Klein’s family suite and little ones can learn about their surrounds with the camp’s fun-filled WILDChild programme.

Activities at &Beyond Klein's Camp

Surrounded by a 10,000 hectare private concession leased from Maasai landlords, there are no limits to &Beyond Klein’s Camp Serengeti safari experience. Go off-roading in search of intimate wildlife encounters in open safari vehicles with a canvas canopy. Only Klein’s vehicles may explore this area, giving you the rare luxury of relatively private animal sightings. Set out for a thrilling night drive after the sun sets. This is when the African bush comes to life with predators and other fascinating nocturnal creatures that are not seen in daylight. Looking to take your Serengeti safari adventure even a step further? Embark on a bush walk (where/whilst your feet) tread in the tracks of zebra and buffalo, your nostrils fill with the scent of crushed wild grasses and you push through the brush and all six senses re-awake as Africa touches you and you touch Africa.

&Beyond Klein’s Camp has much more to offer (please note that these experiences will have to be pre-booked). Try to capture the essence of the Great Migration with your camera by joining a specialised photograph tour. Or meet the Maasai of Ololosokwan and immerse yourself in Maasai culture with a three-hour trip to an authentic Maasai village where they will be invited into a Maasai home for a glimpse into their daily life, visit a traditional boma and perhaps venture to a local school or clinic. The most famous of Africa’s people, these fierce warriors are still practicing their ancestral way of life and are known for their pastoral traditions, living off their herds of cattle, sheep, goats, and donkeys.

Children Policy

&Beyond Klein’s Camp welcomes children of all ages. Please note that children aged 6 to 11 can participate in regular game drives at the lodge manager’s discretion. There are also childminders available (at an additional cost)
