SafariBando – Booking Terms & Conditions

These Booking Terms & Conditions apply to all safaris, trekking tours, and travel services operated by SafariBando. By confirming a booking and making a payment, the client agrees to the terms outlined below.


1. Booking & Contract

  • Your contract is with SafariBando, a licensed tour operator based in Tanzania.

  • A booking is confirmed once SafariBando receives the required deposit or full payment.

  • The person making the booking (“lead traveler”) is responsible for ensuring that all members of the group have read and accepted these terms.

  • SafariBando provides tailor-made tours based on client preferences and availability.


2. Itinerary & Services

  • Clients receive a detailed itinerary outlining accommodations, activities, and services included.

  • SafariBando will deliver the agreed services except where changes are required due to weather, road conditions, park regulations, safety concerns, or force majeure.

  • In such cases, we reserve the right to modify the itinerary while maintaining a similar standard and value. Clients will be informed as soon as possible.


3. Payment Terms

  • A 30% deposit is required to confirm a booking.

  • 100% payment is required for any airline tickets.

  • The remaining balance must be paid no later than 25 days before tour start.

  • Bookings made within 25 days of departure require full payment at confirmation.

  • Failure to pay the balance on time may result in cancellation and applicable cancellation charges.


4. Methods of Payment

Payments can be made via:

  • Bank transfer

  • Online payment gateway

Any bank or transaction fees are the responsibility of the client.


5. Cancellation & Refund Policy

All cancellations must be made in writing and are effective from the date SafariBando receives the request.

Cancellation Fees (per person)

  • More than 90 days before tour start: 10% cancellation fee

  • 60–89 days before tour start: 30% cancellation fee

  • 30–59 days before tour start: 60% cancellation fee

  • 8–29 days before tour start: 80% cancellation fee

  • 0–7 days before tour start: No refund (100%)

Important notes:

  • International and domestic flights are 100% non-refundable once issued.

  • Bank charges and payment gateway fees are deducted from any refund.

  • If supplier penalties exceed the above percentages, the non-refundable amount may increase accordingly.


6. Changes & Amendments by Client

  • Changes to confirmed bookings are subject to availability.

  • An amendment fee may apply.

  • Changes requested within 4 weeks of departure may be treated as a cancellation.


7. Prices & Website Information

  • All prices are quoted in USD and are per person, usually based on two people sharing.

  • Prices exclude visas, tips, travel insurance, personal expenses, drinks, and optional activities unless stated otherwise.

  • Website prices are indicative only and subject to change.

  • Final confirmed prices are stated on the invoice.

  • Quotations are valid for 14 days.


8. Travel Documents

  • Final travel documents (vouchers and confirmations) are sent approximately 2 weeks before departure.

  • Clients must review documents immediately and report any errors promptly.


9. Passports & Visas

  • Passports must be valid for at least 6 months beyond travel dates.

  • Most nationalities can obtain a Tanzania visa on arrival (USD 50 / USD 100 for US citizens).

  • Clients are fully responsible for visas and entry requirements.


10. Travel Insurance

  • Comprehensive travel and medical insurance is mandatory.

  • Insurance should cover medical treatment, evacuation, trip cancellation, delays, and personal belongings.

  • SafariBando is not liable for losses not covered by insurance.


11. Health & Medical Conditions

  • Clients must inform SafariBando of any medical conditions or disabilities at the time of booking.

  • SafariBando reserves the right to decline or cancel a booking if the tour is unsuitable for the client’s condition.


12. Force Majeure

SafariBando is not liable for delays, changes, or cancellations caused by events beyond our control, including but not limited to:

  • Weather conditions

  • Government actions

  • Strikes

  • Pandemics

  • Natural disasters

  • Airline operational issues

Refunds depend on recoverable costs from suppliers.


13. Responsibility & Liability

  • SafariBando is responsible for services booked directly through us.

  • We are not liable for optional activities booked independently or through third parties.

  • Liability is limited in accordance with Tanzanian law and international travel conventions.

  • SafariBando does not accept liability for loss of enjoyment, indirect losses, or business-related losses.


14. Complaints

  • Any issues during the tour must be reported immediately to the guide or lodge.

  • Written complaints must be submitted within 28 days after the tour ends.


15. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Tanzania, and any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Tanzanian courts.
