Ngare Sero Mountain Lodge is one of the oldest and most beloved family lodges in Tanzania — an early 20th-century colonial farmhouse set within 50 acres of lush gardens, streams and forest on the slopes of Mount Meru. Since 1974 the property has welcomed guests to a world of horse riding, croquet, spring-fed lake swimming, colobus monkey watching, exceptional birding (with hundreds of species in the grounds) and the incomparable tranquility of the East African highland forest.

The lodge offers 10 garden rooms, 2 main house suites and a 2-bedroom pool cottage — deliberately small to maintain the personal, family-home atmosphere that returning guests describe as its defining quality.
