4-Day Tanzania Safari from Zanzibar to Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro Crater

Day 1: Zanzibar – Fly to Arusha – Tarangire National Park – Karatu

• Catch a morning flight from Zanzibar to Arusha Airport, where your private safari guide will greet you.
• Drive straight to Tarangire National Park for a scenic game drive. The park is known for its giant baobab trees, ancient elephant herds, and seasonal rivers attracting diverse wildlife.
• Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park and continue game viewing in the afternoon.
• In the late afternoon, drive to Karatu on the edge of the Ngorongoro Highlands.
• Arrive at your lodge in time for dinner and a restful evening.

Day 2: Karatu – Serengeti National Park

• After breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
• Enjoy a game drive along the way, as you enter the legendary Serengeti plains.
• Arrive in time for lunch and relax before heading out for an afternoon game drive in the endless savannah — keep your eyes open for lions, cheetahs, wildebeest, and elephants.
• Return to your tented camp for dinner and a night under the stars.

Day 3: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

• Begin your day with a sunrise game drive and breakfast in the bush.

• Optional visit to a Maasai village for a cultural experience (on request).
• Arrive at your lodge on the crater rim or nearby in Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater Tour – Fly Back to Zanzibar

• After an early breakfast, descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a spectacular game drive.
• Explore the crater floor — home to the Big Five, including the rare black rhino, and abundant wildlife like zebras, hippos, lions, and flamingos.
• Enjoy a picnic lunch by the hippo pool before ascending back to the crater rim.
• Drive to Arusha Airport for your afternoon flight back to Zanzibar, arriving in the early evening.
