4-Day Tanzania Safari from Zanzibar - Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro

A morning flight from Zanzibar to Arusha Airport, where your private guide meets you. The drive heads directly to Tarangire National Park for an afternoon game drive. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and the Tarangire River — the only permanent water source in the park — which draws exceptional concentrations of wildlife. A picnic lunch is taken in the park, followed by afternoon game drives. In the late afternoon you drive to your lodge near Karatu.

After breakfast, the drive heads through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area highlands and into the Serengeti National Park. You arrive in the central Seronera area in time for lunch at the camp, followed by an afternoon game drive. The Seronera area is one of the most productive in the park year-round, with lions reliably found on the kopjes, leopards in the acacia trees, and large herds of zebra, wildebeest, and elephant on the open plains.

A morning game drive in the Serengeti gives the best opportunity for predator sightings in the early light. After a bush picnic, the afternoon drive continues before departing for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. An optional visit to a Maasai community can be arranged en route. You arrive at the crater rim in the evening.

After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. The crater floor is home to one of Africa's highest concentrations of wildlife — lions, elephants, hippos, zebras, flamingos, and the rare black rhino are all regularly encountered. A picnic lunch at the hippo pool is followed by the ascent and the drive back to Arusha Airport for the afternoon flight to Zanzibar.
