Butiama Beach Lodge is a beachfront retreat on Mafia Island, offering the perfect base to relax and unwind, with the beach serving as the departure point for swimming with whale sharks. With only 13 bungalows and a maximum occupancy of 32 people, the lodge offers privacy and space, run as a family business aiming for a casual, relaxed atmosphere suited to couples, friends, or families. From Mafia Airstrip, it takes around 10 minutes by car.

Double Bungalow

Guests can relax in a hammock on a spacious veranda as the evening breeze sets in and the sun gently sets. Each bungalow is furnished with unique handcrafted furniture made from the hardwoods of retired sailing dhows, decorated with kikois, the charming, colourful hand-woven cotton sarongs traditional to the coast. The double bungalow sleeps 2 guests with a king bed, a generous outdoor lounge, wall fan, room safe, and en-suite bathroom.
