Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti β Resort Luxury in the Heart of the Park
Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti occupies a hillside position overlooking a natural waterhole in the central Serengeti, approximately 20 kilometres from Seronera Airstrip. It is the only Four Seasons property in Tanzania, and it brings that brand's signature approach β flawless service, full resort facilities, and meticulous attention to detail β to the Serengeti ecosystem. With 77 rooms and suites, it is also one of the largest properties in the park, which makes it a fundamentally different kind of Serengeti experience from the intimate tented camps nearby.
The waterhole directly below the lodge is a genuine asset. Elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and a rotating cast of plains game come to drink throughout the day and into the night, visible from balconies, the infinity pool deck, and even from bed in certain rooms. It means that guests who need a rest day between game drives still have wildlife entertainment on their doorstep.
Accommodation
The 77 rooms fall into five categories: Savannah Rooms (standard with Serengeti views), Horizon Rooms (higher elevation, panoramic views), Terrace Suites (larger, with private terrace and plunge pool), One-Bedroom Villas (separate villa structure with private pool), Two-Bedroom Villas, and a Three-Bedroom Presidential Suite. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms with bath and shower, air conditioning, flat-screen TVs, minibars, and private balconies. The dΓ©cor uses contemporary African design β local Maasai textiles and artwork, natural stone and timber, earthy tones β keeping the aesthetic aligned with the setting rather than imposing a generic luxury-hotel look.
Dining and Facilities
Three dining venues: Kula's Restaurant serves local flavours and international cuisine with panoramic Serengeti views; the Boma Grill is a cultural experience involving an authentic African feast, Maasai dancing around a fire, and storytelling; and a wine cellar offers food-and-wine pairing experiences. The lodge has a full-service spa (treatments using locally sourced botanicals), an infinity pool, a 24-hour gym, a children's club, and an arcade room β facilities that go well beyond what any tented camp can offer.
Activities
Morning and afternoon game drives in open 4x4 vehicles are the core wildlife activity. Hot-air balloon safaris can be arranged at additional cost. Maasai cultural experiences, guided bush walks and a photography programme are available. The large size of the property means activities are well-organised with multiple vehicles and guides departing simultaneously.
Who Is Four Seasons Serengeti Best For?
The Four Seasons is the right choice for travellers who want the Serengeti experience but require the full-resort infrastructure β multiple dining options, a gym, a children's club, and a predictable international service standard. It suits families with younger children who need the structure of a full resort, couples celebrating milestones who want spa access and a wine cellar, and first-time Africa visitors who feel more comfortable in a familiar luxury-brand environment than in an unfenced tented camp. The waterhole wildlife viewing is genuinely excellent and rivals what you get on a game drive.

Four Seasons Serengeti is the right call when the person you're travelling with needs a children's club, a gym, multiple restaurant options and a predictable luxury-brand standard β and you want them to be happy so you can focus on game drives. The waterhole wildlife viewing is a genuine surprise: most guests underestimate how much time they spend watching from the lodge rather than in a vehicle. The trade-off is scale β at 77 rooms, this is not an intimate camp, and some of the magic of the smaller properties is missing. But for the family market or for first-time Africa travellers who want reassurance alongside adventure, no other Serengeti property delivers the same package.β The SafariBando team
