Katavi Wildlife Camp is owned and operated by the Fox family — British in origin but resident in western Tanzania since the 1950s. Described by ATR Safaris as "lovely, genuine and honest people," the camp is priced approximately 25% below Chada, making it the best-value premium option in Katavi. Eight large tented rooms under thatch on the edge of the Katisunga Plain, between Miombo woodlands and golden grasslands near the Katuma River. The centrepiece is the large main building with an upper viewing deck overlooking the campfire area and the Katuma Plains. Reviews describe elephant grazing "just outside your tented suite" as a morning alarm, lions observed from the upper deck, and "one of the best" camps visited across eastern and southern Africa. The Paradise Plain within the park is described by the camp itself as "pretty aptly named." 2026 rates: $445 pppn low, $575 Aug–Oct peak. Open June–end February.
