Stanley's Kopje Camp — Mikumi's Most Dramatic Setting

Stanley's Kopje Camp, part of the Foxes Safari collection, is consistently rated as Mikumi National Park's finest accommodation. Perched on a rocky kopje — the only elevated land in an otherwise flat open plain — the camp enjoys a unique 360-degree panorama over the surrounding Mikumi wilderness. The Mwanamboga area around the camp is generally considered the best game viewing zone in the park.

Twelve tents are spaced around the lower perimeter of the kopje on high wooden platforms with thatched roofs. Each has a veranda with "the view barely beatable" according to reviewers. A nearby waterhole draws game within sight of camp — guests "get up in the morning and watch the animals at the waterhole, wonderful." Leather chairs on the veranda for sundowners with 360° views are the camp's signature comfort. The Foxes collection's sister camp, Vuma Hills, offers a bush-forested alternative; Stanley's Kopje is the preferred choice for the kopje views and the Mwanamboga game area.
