Gnu Ndutu Migration Camp

Gnu Ndutu Migration Camp is one of the GNU Migration Camps, a mobile operation that follows the Great Migration between two locations: Gnu Mara River Camp in Kogatende (Northern Serengeti, July–October) and Gnu Ndutu Camp in the southern plains of the Serengeti ecosystem, within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (December–March). The Ndutu site sits close to Lake Ndutu, providing some of the best game viewing during the wildebeest and zebra calving season.

Tents

The camp has 10 semi-permanent en-suite luxury tents, including family rooms, each fitted with king-size or twin beds and en-suite facilities comprising a shower with hot water from solar heaters, a hand-wash basin and a flush toilet.

Facilities

A lounge area with a bar and restaurant serves guests, and the campsite runs on solar power for an eco-friendly operation. The nearest airstrip to the camp is Ndutu Airstrip.

Location and Activities

From the second week of December through the end of March, the surrounding plains fill with fresh grass as wildebeest and zebra give birth, drawing large predator concentrations. Game drives and balloon safaris are the main activities. By road, the camp is around 5 hours from Arusha, 2 hours from central Serengeti and 2 hours from Ngorongoro.
