Ngorongoro Wild Camp — In the Southern Conservation Area

Ngorongoro Wild Camp is a 25-room tented camp positioned in the southern part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, approximately 50 kilometres southwest of Karatu town. The camp is well inside the NCA boundary — giving access to the full conservation area wildlife and landscape rather than just the crater — and at 2-hour transfer from Manyara airstrip, it is remote enough to offer genuine seclusion. The position also makes it suitable as a base for exploring the Olduvai Gorge and the remote southern NCA highlands, areas rarely visited by guests staying on the crater rim.

The camp operates on a mid-range budget with an emphasis on the bush experience: an outdoor fireplace, a Maasai barbecue, campfire gatherings, bush sundowners at private sites, and a multi-cuisine restaurant. A swimming pool with a poolside bar provides midday cooling. The 25 rooms are comfortable tented accommodations with private balconies or patios and free WiFi.
