Accommodation

Activities

The primary activity is descending into the crater for game drives on the crater floor — home to lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, hippo, buffalo, black rhino (one of Tanzania's last populations), warthog, wildebeest and zebra in extraordinary concentrations. Day trips to Olduvai Gorge (where human ancestor fossils were discovered) and Laetoli (where 3.6-million-year-old hominid footprints are preserved in volcanic rock) are available.
