Serena Mivumo River Lodge, owned by the Serena Hotels group, is set on the banks of the Rufiji River in Nyerere National Park with jaw-dropping views stretching to Stiegler's Gorge — the dramatic gorge through which the Rufiji cuts its way. Twelve timbered thatched chalets are scattered through the riverine forest for privacy — each with high ceilings, wide picture windows, a crystal chandelier, marble vanity, bathtub and romantic outdoor shower.
