Sunset Kendwa Beach Hotel sits directly on the white sands of Kendwa Beach, on Zanzibar’s north coast – one of the few beaches on the island unaffected by tidal changes, meaning swimming is possible at any time of day. The hotel offers a wide range of brightly decorated traditional rooms and bungalows set around a swimming pool with a walkway leading straight onto the beach.

Newly refurbished rooms and bungalows feature four-poster beds draped with mosquito nets, air conditioning, a seating area, and a private bathroom with shower and hairdryer. Many rooms include a balcony.

Dining and Activities

The on-site Sunset Restaurant serves Swahili and international cuisine, while the Bikini Bar offers cocktails, refreshments and evening entertainment overlooking the beach. The hotel runs an award-winning on-site dive centre, Scuba Do Zanzibar, for diving and snorkelling, and also has a shared lounge, currency exchange, baggage storage and laundry services.

Location

Kendwa is known as more of a resort-beach area than neighbouring Nungwi, with a long stretch of white sand ideal for sunset watching. Stone Town is approximately 60km away, and Zanzibar International Airport is roughly 55km.
