7-Day Northern Tanzania Safari - Serengeti Marvels & Wildebeest Wonders

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide and driver. After a short briefing about your upcoming adventure, you will be transferred to your hotel in Arusha.

The rest of the evening is at leisure allowing you to relax after your journey. You may choose to enjoy dinner at the hotel or explore one of the local restaurants in Arusha.

Dinner and Overnight: Gran Meliá Arusha

Day 2: Tarangire National Park 

After breakfast, depart from Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park one of Tanzania’s most scenic parks. Tarangire is famous for its towering baobab trees, expansive savannah landscapes and large herds of elephants.

Spend the day exploring the park on a game drive where you may encounter elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and many other wildlife species. In the late afternoon, continue your journey to Karatu, located near the Ngorongoro Highlands.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive & Transfer to Central Serengeti

After an early breakfast proceed to the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife destinations. Descend into the crater floor for a memorable game drive. This unique ecosystem hosts an incredible concentration of wildlife including lion 

• Elephants
• Buffaloes
• Zebras and the
• Rare black rhino.

A picnic lunch will be enjoyed at a scenic spot within the crater. In the afternoon continue your journey toward the world-famous Serengeti National Park, arriving in the Central Serengeti region in time for dinner.

Day 4: Northern Serengeti – Following the Great Wildebeest Migration

After breakfast, depart for the northern part of the Serengeti, an area well known for the dramatic crossings of the Great Migration along the Mara River. Spend the day exploring the Northern Serengeti plains while tracking the movements of wildebeest and zebras as they migrate in search of fresh grazing lands. Predators such as lions and crocodiles often gather near the river creating unforgettable wildlife encounters.

In the evening return to camp for relaxation and dinner.

Dinner and Overnight: Serengeti Acacia Migration Camp

Day 5: Northern Serengeti – Mara River Exploration

Today is dedicated to further exploration of the Northern Serengeti and the spectacular wildlife activity around the Mara River. Continue your search for the Great Migration and observe the dramatic river crossings where thousands of wildebeest and zebras attempt to cross crocodile-infested waters. This is one of the most iconic wildlife spectacles in Africa.

Return to camp in the evening for dinner and a peaceful night under the African sky.

Dinner and Overnight: Serengeti Acacia Migration Camp

Day 6: Central Serengeti – Transfer to Karatu

After breakfast, depart the Northern Serengeti and travel back through the central region of Serengeti National Park. Enjoy a game drive through the Serengeti plains, known for their abundant wildlife including lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, and large herds of herbivores.

Later in the afternoon continue your journey toward Karatu.

Day 7: Lake Manyara National Park & Return to Arusha

On your final day visit Lake Manyara National Park, a beautiful park located at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Enjoy a morning game drive through diverse habitats including forests, open grasslands, and the alkaline lake itself. The park is well known for its tree-climbing lions, flamingos, elephants, and a rich variety of birdlife.

After the game drive return to Arusha. Your safari will conclude with a drop-off either in Arusha town or at Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey.
