Acacia Farm Lodge is a romantic country lodge on a 25-acre active mixed farm high on the Great Rift escarpment on the outskirts of Karatu town, with commanding panoramic views over the Karatu farmlands and the nearby Ngorongoro forest. The lodge is strategically positioned between Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Parks on one side, and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Serengeti National Park on the other – a 15-minute drive to the Lolduare gate and around 20–30 minutes to Lake Manyara National Park.

Rooms

Accommodation is in contemporary African chalets, each with a private balcony or deck overlooking the coffee farm and surrounding landscape. Rooms are en-suite with air conditioning, a minibar, coffee-making facilities, satellite TV and WiFi.

Facilities

The lodge has a luxury lounge, an intimate bar, a spacious dining room and a secluded coffee shop, alongside a curio shop, swimming pool with bar area, gym and spa. A 40-seat conference room and small business centre are also available. Dining includes daily themed buffets of local and international cuisine, with a wine cellar and knowledgeable staff for pairings.

Location

Set among gardens, coffee fields and organic farmland, with birdsong and mature trees creating a tranquil rural atmosphere – an easy, unhurried base for early starts to the Ngorongoro Crater.
