Kananga Special Tented Camp — Unfenced in the Heart of the Serengeti
Kananga Special Tented Camp sits "at the foot of the Banagi Hills, overlooking a beautiful savannah resplendent with the emblematic East African Thorn trees" in the heart of the Seronera area. What distinguishes it from many Serengeti camps is its deliberately unfenced design — a reviewer notes it was "the only camp we stayed at that wasn't walled or fenced in," giving "an unobstructed view over the Serengeti grasslands from our tents and the dining area. Wildlife was visible at all times. As dusk and dawn approached, we could see, and hear, hyenas, lions and other animals."
The camp offers two tent categories: Classic Tents with Indian cotton linens, warm duvets, Maasai blankets, en-suite toilet and open-air shower, and VIP Tents with enhanced amenities.
