Karatu Tented Lodge is a small, comfortable lodge in the Rift Valley fault between Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro, 10 minutes from the town of Karatu in northern Tanzania. The location is strategic: the lodge sits almost exactly at the midpoint between Lake Manyara National Park to the east (30 minutes) and the Ngorongoro Crater rim to the west (45 minutes), making it an ideal base for the Northern Circuit's two most popular Arusha-area destinations without committing to the premium pricing of crater-rim properties.

The lodge is part of the Mawe Lodges collection (a small Tanzanian portfolio) and offers an African-safari aesthetic with a fireplace restaurant, gardens, swimming pool, children's play area and a range of cultural activities. The fireplace restaurant and gardens give it more character than a standard roadside guesthouse.
