Expert Africa describes it as "a small, luxurious camp offering outstanding walking safaris in a remote area of Ruaha." A reviewer says it consists of "two camps: an upscale, top of the line main camp — and I do mean it, having stayed in a dozen other camps through 3 safaris. Locally quarried rock was placed into three exquisite living areas." Another: "Kichaka is a truly special place — I would urge anyone looking for an adventure combined with luxury to spend a few days here." The blue plunge pool created "an ambiance of luxury and comfort that exceeded my expectations."

The remote eastern Ruaha position means the game is "not used to car traffic at all" — animals behave completely naturally and the bush experience is unlike the more-visited Mwagusi area. This is recommended as a follow-up to a more game-dense Ruaha camp rather than a first-timer's only stop. Owner-managers Noelle and Moli run both the stationary camp and a dry-season fly camp.
