Kigelia Safari Camp — Nomad Tanzania's Back-to-Nature Ruaha Gem

Kigelia Safari Camp is operated by Nomad Tanzania and takes its name from the kigelia — the sausage tree — whose grove shades the camp on the banks of the Ifuguru seasonal sand river. Yellow Zebra Safaris calls it "Nomad's best tented camp in Ruaha" and describes the ethos: "Kigelia Ruaha's aim is to blend into its environment with the emphasis on the experience but it is still more than comfortable." Tanzania Odyssey adds: "4 leopards in one day! Guides were so knowledgeable — definite 10 out of 10."

Six large safari tents with wide verandas and thatch roofs. Traditional safari en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets and outdoor bucket showers under the stars. One large family tent with two en-suite tented bedrooms. The rate is fully inclusive: full board, game drives, bush walks, bush picnics, sundowners and transfers to/from Msembe airstrip. The communal area is a simple canvas and wooden structure — exactly the back-to-nature aesthetic Nomad embodies. Best paired with Sand Rivers Nyerere for a southern Tanzania Nomad circuit.
