Experience the beauty that surrounds you and see animals run free within their natural habitat as you dine upon local cuisine and flavours. At Nomad Lamai Serengeti, every day is filled with something new to enjoy for all.

Prime location for the migration between July and October

Stand above the plains on the Kogakuria Kopje and see for miles and miles as over a million wildebeest cross the plains on their way across the Mara River. Set within the Lamai Wedge that bristles with mammals all year round so you will never find a dull moment. The beautiful kopje is a sacred wildlife haven. Head into one of the lodge communal areas, experience dining with fellow travellers or enjoy a romantic private table. You will eat under cover or at a table under the open air. Enjoy picnics, sundowners and bush breakfasts at the dining area or in the Serengeti bush so you can see animals up close with the help of a guide. Take a trip to the pool with its outstanding views and natural rock deck. Relax after a long day in the bush on the sunbeds and dip into the cooling waters.

Set within Serengeti National Park, the eight rooms have private verandas that fit in to the surrounding scenery. With spectacular views over the Serengeti, you will see sights of natural beauty and awe with animals mere metres away. Each room has an en-suite bathroom with strong showers of hot water. Every suite has been designed so it incorporates the beauty of the plains that surround it. Spend the nights dreaming of the next day’s adventures on the comfortable beds. With your own private veranda, you will take in incredible sights of the Lamai area, and each evening you will fall asleep to the sounds of nature. Wake up to thousands of birds making music as you get ready to start your day. Each of the eight rooms has unique and interesting local African artwork adorning the walls.

Activities at Nomad Lamai Serengeti

Between the months of July and October, you will witness over a million-strong wildebeest and zebra that throw themselves in the perilous Mara River with its crocodile-infested waters, hoping to head where the grass is greener. This makes for spectacular viewing for predator and prey, as they battle their way to the banks in the late dry season. The rest of the year you will still have the chance for some truly incredible game viewing.

The Serengeti ecosystem has healthy concentrations of lion, leopard and buffalo. Head out with an expert guide and their rugged 4x4s as you go out into the plains for big mammal discoveries and the excellent photographic opportunities on hand. Another wonderful opportunity available to guests is an impressive bush walk with an expert guide. Slip out of the lodge and head to where the small valleys, the river lines and the rocky kopjes are frequently changing the scenery. On this energising bush walk, you will have the perfect cover for the approaching wild animals.

Head out on a birdwatching experience where you will get the chance to encounter over 500 species, from Woodpeckers to African Kingfishers. Or explore the African sky at night as the stars come alive and show you the beauty of the plains from a unique perspective.
