Frequently asked questions

How fit do I need to be for this safari?

This is an entirely vehicle-based safari with no walking required beyond moving around camps and lodges, making it accessible to all fitness levels.

How much does the optional hot air balloon safari cost?

The balloon safari is available as an optional add-on at an additional cost, payable separately from the main tour price. Ask us for current pricing when booking if you're interested in adding this.

Will I see the wildebeest migration?

The migration's exact timing and location vary year to year based on rainfall, so no operator can guarantee it falls within the Mara during your specific travel dates. The Mara's resident wildlife is reliably strong regardless of migration timing.

When is the best time of year for this safari?

July to October is the classic window for the wildebeest migration in the Mara, while the dry season generally (June to October, plus January-February) offers the easiest game viewing across all three stops on this route.

What's included in the price?

The price covers park fees for non-residents, all activities unless labelled as optional, all accommodation unless listed as an upgrade, a professional driver-guide, all transportation unless labelled as optional, all taxes and VAT, roundtrip airport transfers, and the meals and drinking water specified in the day-by-day itinerary. International flights, the optional balloon safari, additional accommodation before or after the tour, tips and personal items such as souvenirs, travel insurance and visa fees are not included.

Will I see rhino on this safari?

Lake Nakuru National Park is a strong location for both black and white rhino, with a well-established and actively protected population. As with any wildlife sighting, it cannot be guaranteed, but the odds at Nakuru specifically are good.

What about visas and travel insurance?

Most nationalities can obtain a Kenya tourist visa online before travel via the eTA system, and a regional East Africa visa covering Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda is also available. Travel insurance covering medical evacuation is recommended for any safari trip.
