Frequently asked questions

How fit do I need to be for this 7-day trip?

This is an entirely vehicle-based safari, with game drives at each stop. It suits all fitness levels.

Is leopard sighting guaranteed at Lake Nakuru?

No sighting can be guaranteed on any wildlife safari, including leopard, which moves through the park's wooded areas unpredictably. Lake Nakuru's reliable highlights are its birdlife, white rhino and giraffe, with leopard a possible bonus rather than a certainty.

When is the best time of year for this safari?

The dry seasons, from June to October and January to February, offer the easiest game viewing across all four destinations. The Great Wildebeest Migration is typically in the Masai Mara between July and October, though exact timing varies year to year based on rainfall.

What's included in the price?

The price covers park fees for non-residents, all activities unless labelled as optional, all accommodation unless listed as an upgrade, a professional driver-guide, all transportation unless labelled as optional, all taxes and VAT, roundtrip airport transfers, and the meals and drinks specified in the day-by-day itinerary. International flights, additional accommodation before or after the tour, some meals as specified, tips and personal items such as souvenirs, travel insurance and visa fees are not included.

What's special about Samburu's wildlife?

Samburu sits north of the equator in a drier, more arid landscape than Kenya's southern parks, supporting a distinct set of drought-adapted species rarely seen further south, including the reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra, the long-necked gerenuk and the Beisa oryx.

What about visas and travel insurance?

Most nationalities can obtain a Kenya tourist visa online before travel, and a regional East Africa visa covering Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda is also available. Travel insurance covering medical evacuation is recommended for any safari trip.
