8-Day Classic Namibia Safari
This 8 day safari will take to you to three of Namibia’s must see natural wonders. We will visit the Namib Desert and Sossusvlei which is home to some of the highest sand dunes in the world. Then we move on to Swakopmund where the desert and the coast come together. We will then make our way up along the Skeleton Coast and turn inland into the dramatic and scenic Damaraland. Last but not least we will move on to Etosha which is one of Africa’s best game viewing destinations. Private or group.

Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1 – Windhoek → Sossusvlei (Namib Desert)
Overnight in Sossuvlei Lodge (https://www.sossusvleilodge.com/)
Your safari begins with collection from Hosea Kutako International Airport or your Windhoek accommodation.
After a short safari briefing, depart southwards through the scenic Khomas Hochland Highlands, descending via one of Namibia’s dramatic escarpment passes into the vast Namib Desert. The journey takes approximately 4–5 hours including photography stops.
After arrival at your lodge and lunch, enjoy a late afternoon scenic nature drive, where you may encounter desert-adapted wildlife such as oryx, springbok, ostrich, and black-backed jackals.
The Namib Desert is considered the oldest desert in the world and is home to some of the highest sand dunes globally.

Day 2 – Sossusvlei → Swakopmund
2 nights in Beach Hotel Swakopmund (https://www.beach-hotel-swakopmund.com/)
Early morning departure with coffee and light breakfast to explore Sossusvlei and Dead Vlei at sunrise — the most photogenic time of day.
Highlights include:
- Dune 45 climb
- Big Daddy Dune (optional climb)
- Dead Vlei’s ancient camel thorn trees
- Sesriem Canyon
After lunch, depart through Namib Naukluft National Park toward the Atlantic coast town of Swakopmund.
Check into your guesthouse. Dinner tonight is at your own expense at one of Swakopmund’s excellent restaurants.

Day 3 – Swakopmund & Walvis Bay
After breakfast, enjoy a guided Living Desert Adventure — a fascinating excursion focusing on desert-adapted microfauna including:
- Palmato geckos
- Sidewinder snakes
- Namaqua chameleons
- Desert scorpions
- Unique desert plant adaptations and Return to Swakopmund for lunch.
Afternoon at leisure with optional activities (own cost):

Day 4 – Swakopmund → Skeleton Coast → Damaraland
Spend a night at Lodge Damara Land
After breakfast, travel north along the dramatic Skeleton Coast, stopping at a historic shipwreck.
Turn inland toward Damaraland, passing the Brandberg Massif (Namibia’s highest mountain at 2,573m).
Visit:
- Twyfelfontein Rock Engravings (UNESCO World Heritage Site)
- Organ Pipes
- Burnt Mountain

Day 5 – (09/04/2026) Damaraland → Etosha National Park
Spend 2 night at Etosha Safari Camp
After breakfast, depart for Etosha National Park.
Arrive in time for an afternoon game drive inside the park. Etosha is renowned for its vast salt pan and prolific wildlife, especially around waterholes.
Species commonly seen include:
- Elephant, Lion, Rhino, Giraffe, Zebra, Springbok, Oryx, etc.

Day 6 – (10/04/2026) Etosha National Park (Western & Central Section)
Full day dedicated to game viewing with early morning and late afternoon drives.
Etosha offers exceptional predator sightings and large herds gathering at waterholes.
Return to lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7 – Eastern Etosha → Mushara Lodge
Overnight in Mushara Lodge
Today, travel across Etosha toward the eastern section of the park with game viewing the route.
Exit the park and check into Mushara Lodge, located just outside the eastern gate.
This region features denser vegetation and excellent wildlife diversity.
Enjoy a relaxed final safari evening.

Day 8 – Etosha → Windhoek (Departure)
After breakfast (or optional early morning game drive), depart for Windhoek.
Transfer to:
