Frequently asked questions

Do I need to arrange my own transport to the lodge?

Self-driving in your own hired vehicle is the standard arrangement, since the lodge is an easy 3.5-hour drive from Cape Town. Private transfers can be arranged in advance for an additional cost if you would prefer not to drive.

Is this safari suitable for children?

Yes, the lodge has a clear and generous child policy: children of all ages are welcome, with reduced rates for children aged 3 to 12 and free stays for children under 3. Dedicated kids' game drives and activities are included, and child minding can be arranged at an additional cost.

Will I see the Big Five at this lodge?

The reserve is home to lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino alongside a wide range of other wildlife, and morning and evening game drives across the stay give good odds of strong sightings. As with any wildlife safari, no individual sighting can be guaranteed.

Is the reserve malaria-free?

Yes, this is a malaria-free private game reserve, which makes it a popular choice for families and travellers who prefer not to take malaria precautions.

What's included in the price?

The price covers park fees for non-residents, all activities unless labelled as optional, all accommodation unless listed as an upgrade, a professional driver-guide where applicable, all transportation unless labelled as optional, all taxes and VAT, and the meals specified in the day-by-day itinerary. International flights, roundtrip airport transfers, lodge transfers, lunch, drinks, spa treatments, child minding, additional accommodation before or after the stay, tips and personal items such as souvenirs, travel insurance and visa fees are not included.

What about visas and travel insurance?

Most nationalities can enter South Africa visa-free for short tourist stays, though requirements vary by passport, so check current rules before booking. Travel insurance covering medical evacuation is recommended for any safari trip.
