The Grumeti River is famous for one specific spectacle: between May and July, the Great Migration herds stream through the western Serengeti on their northward journey and pile up at the Grumeti crossings — a less-publicised but no less dramatic version of the more famous Mara River crossings in the north. The Nile crocodiles here are some of the largest on the continent, and the crossings can be watched from the camp's location. Outside migration season, the riverside setting draws lion, leopard, elephant, giraffe, buffalo, hippo and a stunning array of waterbirds year-round.

Ten tented suites are set under forest canopy on raised platforms overlooking the Grumeti River.
