Baobab Central Serengeti Camp โ Cultural Warmth on the Orangi River
Baobab Central Serengeti Camp is a 12-tent camp on the banks of the Orangi River in the central Serengeti, operated by Baobab Lodges & Camps โ a Tanzanian company also running Baobab Mara Luxury Camp in the north. Positioned 20km from Seronera Airstrip on a historic site previously used as a German and later British gold mining station, the camp sits in prime big-cat territory with resident lion, cheetah and leopard.
August 2025 guests described it as "spotlessly clean, wonderfully comfortable, and packed with special touches โ a magical experience from start to finish." The camp's signature evening entertainment โ staff song, dance and music around the campfire โ is consistently mentioned as an unforgettable highlight. Although described as a tent, each unit "inside feels like a luxurious wooden lodge with full bathroom, indoor and outdoor showers, and nightly turndown service."
