Mbuzi Mawe Serena Camp takes its name from the Swahili for "Rock Hyrax" β the small mammals that inhabit the ancient granite outcrops guarding the camp. Set between these three-million-year-old rock formations in the Serengeti, the camp is positioned on one of the main annual Migration corridors β more than one million wildebeest, half a million zebras and gazelles traverse this area seasonally, accompanied by their predators. The unfenced camp allows wildlife to move freely through the grounds at all times.
