Tloma Lodge

Tloma Lodge is a small, exclusive cottage lodge on the eastern lower slopes of the Ngorongoro Highlands, perched on the raised shoulder of a valley about 6km from Karatu town and 16km from the Lolduare gate to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The lodge is built in a colonial farmhouse style, modelled on its larger sister property, Ngorongoro Farm House, just 15 minutes away – both part of the Tanganyika Wilderness Camps collection.

Rooms

Accommodation comprises 24 small cottages built in colonial style plus 12 garden view rooms in the main building – 36 rooms in total, available as standard (max 3 guests), interconnected (max 5) and garden view configurations. Rooms have private verandas, large beds, mosquito nets and en-suite shower rooms.

Gardens and Pool

The lodge sits opposite the eastern escarpment of the Ngorongoro Crater, with a hanging waterfall cascading 150 metres down the forested highland slopes nearby. The gardens, full of flowering plants and bushes, surround a solar-heated outdoor pool with views down the valley over the coffee plantation. Eco-friendly solar power with generator backup serves the property.

Activities

Guided walks around the coffee plantation and to local villages, the nearby waterfall, escorted walks in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, massage treatments, and day trips to Lake Eyasi to visit the Hadzabe people.
