2-Day Nyerere National Park Safari from Zanzibar

Two days gives you a genuine taste of the park, with one full afternoon and one morning of activities, including both a game drive and a boat safari. It is a compact introduction rather than a comprehensive visit; travellers who want more time should consider our 3-day or longer Nyerere itineraries.

This itinerary is arranged as a road and boat transfer combination depending on your exact starting point, with your driver collecting you directly from your accommodation. Flight transfers can also be arranged on request for a faster journey.

The dry season from June to October offers the easiest game viewing, with animals concentrated around the Rufiji River and remaining water sources. The wet season from November to May brings lush scenery and strong birdwatching but can make some areas harder to access.

Elephant, buffalo and lion are seen regularly in Nyerere, and leopard sightings do occur, though they are less predictable over a short two-day visit. Black rhino are not a feature of Nyerere's wildlife, so this safari is better suited to travellers focused on elephant, big cat and riverine wildlife rather than a guaranteed Big Five checklist.

The price covers hotel pickup and drop-off, the meals specified in the day-by-day itinerary, game drives in a 4x4 vehicle, the boat safari, one night of accommodation, park fees and all taxes. International flights, tips and personal items such as souvenirs and travel insurance are not included.
