Kigali to Nyungwe National Park — Museum Visits — Canopy Walk
After an early breakfast and hotel checkout, the drive to Nyungwe National Park in southwestern Rwanda takes approximately five hours. En route, a visit to the Royal Palace Museum in Nyanza — a reconstructed traditional royal residence — and the adjacent Ethnographic Museum offer an introduction to Rwandan cultural history and royal traditions. After lunch on the road, you arrive at Nyungwe National Park and head directly for the canopy walk at Uwinka. The canopy walkway stretches through the treetops at heights of up to 90 metres above the forest floor, giving a remarkable aerial perspective of the rainforest canopy and the opportunity to spot birds and primates from above. After the walk, you check into your lodge for dinner and overnight.
