5-Day Serengeti & Ngorongoro Safari - Northern Circuit

This trip is built specifically for travelers who want real depth in the Serengeti rather than a quick pass-through. Two full days gives meaningfully more time to track wildlife movements, follow up on sightings, and explore different areas of the park than a single day allows.

No fitness requirement applies, this is a vehicle-based safari throughout, with no walking required beyond getting in and out of the vehicle at picnic and viewing stops.

June to October is the dry season, with wildlife concentrated around water sources and generally the most reliable game viewing in both parks. January and February is the southern Serengeti calving season, with strong predator activity. The Ngorongoro Crater is productive year-round regardless of season.

The price covers transport and game viewing in a modified 4x4 Land Cruiser with a photographic roof hatch, services of a professional, experienced English-speaking driver-guide, all park fees and game drives as per the itinerary, mineral water per person during game drives, all meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner during the safari), government VAT and Serengeti concession fees, and airport transfer. Personal items, domestic and international flight tickets, gratuities, travel insurance, and drinks and beverages at lodges or camps are not included. Cheetah, leopard and lion are all genuine possibilities given the Central Serengeti's location where bushland meets grassland, a favorite hunting ground for big cats. The Ngorongoro Crater offers a particularly dense concentration of wildlife, including a chance of spotting the endangered black rhino, alongside elephant, buffalo, hippo and hyena.

Yes, the relatively focused two-park structure makes for a simpler trip to plan around than a multi-park itinerary, and the two full days in the Serengeti give plenty of time to spot wildlife at a relaxed pace.

Most nationalities can obtain a Tanzania tourist visa online via the eTA system before travel, or on arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport. The visa costs USD 50 for most nationalities and USD 100 for US citizens. Comprehensive travel insurance covering medical evacuation is recommended for all safari travelers, and we can arrange membership with the Flying Doctors Service on request.

SafariBando operates from Moshi with our own vehicles and team. If a vehicle has an issue, our Arusha operations base can dispatch a replacement. All vehicles carry a means of emergency communication, and lodges have radio or phone contact with the operations base.
