5-Day Serengeti Migration Safari + Ngorongoro Crater

Your safari begins with pickup from your hotel for the drive to the Serengeti, around 7 hours to reach the main gate, with an optional stop at Olduvai Gorge along the way. This site played a defining role in the study of human origins, with discoveries by Dr. Louis Leakey and Mary Leakey in 1959 still central to the field today. Continuing on toward Naabi Gate, you'll have lunch followed by a short game drive before settling in at your camp for the night.

A full day exploring this vast, biodiversity-rich ecosystem, with morning and evening game drives and a lunch stop at one of the park's picnic sites. Depending on the season, you'll have the chance to see the wildebeest migration alongside the other herbivores that accompany it, with visits to different areas like rivers and kopjes known for their concentration of wildlife. You'll return to camp in the evening for a hot shower and overnight rest.

A second full day in the Serengeti, giving more time to track migration movements and explore further into the park than a single day allows. As with Day 2, expect morning and evening game drives with a lunch stop at a scenic picnic site, and a good chance of further predator and big-game sightings.

A morning game drive in the Serengeti before you begin the drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. An optional visit to a Maasai boma is available along the way, a chance to explore traditional ways of life including dance and daily customs. You'll arrive at your hotel near the crater rim in the afternoon for overnight.

Activity: Morning Serengeti game drive, drive to Ngorongoro, optional Maasai boma visit

Accommodation: Hotel or lodge near the Ngorongoro crater rim

In the morning, you'll descend into the crater for a full game drive across its floor, famous for its variety of animals including the Big Five. In the afternoon you'll drive out and begin the safari back to Arusha, finishing with a transfer to the airport for your departing flight or onward connection to another safari destination.
