5-Day Amazing Tanzania Honeymoon Safari

Pickup from your hotel in or around Arusha, with a roughly 2.5 hour scenic drive through beautiful landscapes. In Tarangire, you'll enjoy a game drive before lunch, and today's lunch is a special honeymoon selection with wine, a lovely start to your trip. The park is located 115km south of Arusha, a long, narrow stretch running along the Tarangire River, the only reliable water source for wildlife during the dry season, and is famous for its large elephant population, baobab trees, and tree-climbing African pythons. The afternoon continues with further game viewing before arriving at your lodge in time to enjoy stunning views of the Rift Valley.

A morning drive to Lake Manyara for a full day of game driving. The park is known for its breathtaking panoramic views, waterfalls, clear-water brooks and hot springs, sitting between the cliffs of the Great Rift Valley and the lake itself. Lake Manyara holds one of the largest populations of water birds in the region, over 400 species including flamingos and pelicans, alongside large herds of elephant, giraffe, hippo, buffalo and impala. You'll arrive back at your lodge in the late afternoon.

After breakfast, the journey continues toward the Serengeti, a roughly 4-hour drive. The Serengeti-Mara ecosystem stretches across the border of Tanzania and Kenya, around 80 percent of it within Tanzania, and is famous for the Great Migration of roughly 1.5 million herbivores and the predators that follow them between the drier northern hills and the southern plains. Grasslands cover more than a third of the park, supporting wildlife throughout the year. You'll arrive in time for lunch, with an afternoon game drive to follow, and reach your lodge by late afternoon in time for a beautiful Serengeti sunset.

A full morning of game driving in the Serengeti, before heading toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in the afternoon. Your lodge for the night sits just a few hundred metres from the crater rim, with sweeping views across untouched high montane forest toward Mount Oldeani and Mount Makarot.

An early start after breakfast for the descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, around 20km across with a crater wall roughly 600 metres high, the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world. An estimated 30,000 large mammals call the crater home, gathered around a central salt lake, and this is one of the few places where local Maasai and Hadza communities live alongside the wildlife. After taking in the views from the crater floor, you'll drive back to Arusha, arriving before dinner time.
