2-Day Mikumi Safari from Dar es Salaam by SGR Train

The SGR train covers Dar es Salaam to Morogoro in approximately 2.5 hours — similar to or faster than road, more comfortable, and a notable experience in its own right as one of East Africa's newest rail services. It also means no lengthy road transfers at the beginning and end of the safari.

Mikumi's open plains regularly support elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, lions, and hippos in the Mkata River pools. The park is often described as the "Serengeti of the south" for its landscape character, and wildlife viewing can be excellent year-round.
