3-Day Magoroto Forest Getaway - East Usambara Rainforest

This is a low-key, easy-paced getaway rather than a trekking trip. Forest walks within the estate are gentle and can be adjusted to suit your pace and interests, there's no strenuous hiking required. Swimming in the lake is entirely optional.

Accommodation is camping at Magoroto Forest Estate, set within the rainforest grounds. The estate has a relaxed, nature-focused atmosphere with views over the surrounding valley. A small bar at the estate sells drinks at extra cost if you'd like something beyond what's included.

Magoroto sits at around 850m, which keeps temperatures pleasant year-round compared with the coast below. The East Usambara Mountains are one of the wetter parts of Tanzania, so some rain is possible at any time of year, this is part of what sustains the rainforest, but it doesn't typically disrupt a relaxed itinerary like this one. Pack a light rain layer just in case.

The price covers 2 nights of camping accommodation at Magoroto Forest Estate, all meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) as specified, and all activity fees including guide fees and village entry fees where applicable. Transport between Dar es Salaam (or Moshi) and Magoroto can be added as a group package; ask us for current pricing based on your group size and starting point.
